Business Networking – what’s that all about then?
If you have started or are running your own business, networking can be a really useful way of getting known locally and creating some great contacts.
But it can be a very daunting prospect if you’ve never had to do it before. Not only do you have to go and mingle with a room of strangers, you want them to like you and trust you so that you will hopefully, over the longer term, generate some business. If not through the people you meet directly, then through them.
But it’s one of those activities that gets easier over time as you get to know people and some people (who, may for example, work from home) come to business networking purely to meet other humans.
My blog, Business Networking – what’s that all about then?, covers the basics of the different types of groups and how to make the most out of your early days of networking.
